 is the co-founder of Alltop.com, an “online magazine rack” of popular topics on the web, and a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures. Previously, he was the chief evangelist of Apple. Kawasaki is the author of ten books including Enchantment, Reality Check, The Art of the Start, Rules for Revolutionaries, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, Selling the Dream, and The Macintosh Way. Kawasaki has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College. |

 is an entrepreneur and angel investor, a co-author of Venture Hacks, and a co-maintainer of AngelList. Previously he was a co-founder at Genoa Corp (acquired by Finisar), Epinions.com (IPO via Shopping.com), and Vast.com (largest white-label classifieds marketplace). He has also advised Bix.com, iPivot, and XFire, among others, and invested in many companies, including Twitter, FourSquare, DocVerse (sold to Google), Mixer Labs (sold to Twitter), Jambool (Social Gold), SnapLogic, PlanCast, Stack Overflow, Heyzap, and Disqus. |
Mr. Baker earned a BA in mathematics from Yale University in 1964 and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1966. He worked for Cummins Engine Company in London and Columbus, Indiana, and for the Delta Foundation, a community development corporation started by civil rights leaders in Greenville, Mississippi. Mr. Baker is a trustee of Yale University, where he chairs the Finance Committee and serves on the Investment Committee. He serves as a director of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Special Investments. He is a board member of Environmental Defense Fund. Delivering the goods
The venture capital markets made a roaring comeback in 2010 with 2,799 deals attracting $26.2 billion investment (11% increase from 2009), although median deal size for 2010 dropped to $4.4 million (from $5 million in 2009).
Our panelists will debate the strategy's they deploy to support their portfolio companies while delivering expected returns to their investors. They will examine methods of managing their portfolio companies, discuss the influence of the recent crisis on their approach, and explore innovative approaches to building successful companies.
